Pennsylvania Divorce Lawyers
Montgomery Legal Separation Attorney

The Pennsylvania divorce lawyers at the Law Offices of Maribeth Blessing, LLC, in Rockledge, Montgomery County, believe that a courtroom is the last place that a couple in conflict needs to be. We promote and facilitate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as our preferred method of handling divorce and separation issues including property division settlements, debt division, child custody, child support, and spousal maintenance or support (alimony).

Our secondary practice, Maribeth Blessing, Mediation & Arbitration, LLC, offers mediation and arbitration services, allowing separating couples to have greater input into their own dispute resolutions. Family law mediation makes possible “a divorce or settlement without war” for many of our family law clients.

Contact our Pennsylvania divorce lawyers if you are contemplating divorce and would like to schedule a consultation to learn about how we can help you, whether through mediation or more traditional styles of representation.

Our Firm Offers Divorce Mediation

Mediation is often useful for our clients who are undergoing separation, divorcing, preparing for marriage, and negotiating post-divorce modifications. We are prepared to take the role of neutral mediator, as well as to advocate for clients in the context of family law mediation when another attorney is mediator, as well as in matters related to employment, business, neighborhood, and education disputes.

Reaching Agreements on Division of Property, Spousal Maintenance, Child Support, Parenting Schedules, and More

By way of divorce mediation, we assist our clients as they arrive at decisions concerning division of property, spousal maintenance, child support, parenting schedules for the minor children, and other topics or issues. At the conclusion of the mediation process, a final settlement agreement is prepared by an attorney who has been part of the proceedings. Once the couple signs this document, they may then have it made part of their divorce decree.

In helping our clients reach equitable agreements concerning marital property division, we apply the factors spelled out in the Pennsylvania divorce code, including the following: the length of the marriage; the age . . . employability . . . and needs of each of the parties; the contribution of one party to the . . . increased earning power of the other party; the sources of income of both parties; the standard of living . . . established during the marriage; and whether the party will be serving as the custodian of any dependent minor children.
